Shiho Sugimoto

Shiho Sugimoto joined ECOS as a project assistant in June 2026.

She holds a Master’s degree in “European Culture and Economy” with a focus on energy politics from Ruhr University Bochum, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Nihon University in Japan.

Through internships at ECOS and the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation in Brussels, she gained practical experience in analyzing economic and energy policy issues within the EU-Japan context. Her background also includes roles in hotel and marketing management in Japan, as well as an internship at TÜV Rheinland Japan, where she focused on communication and event coordination.

Her mother tongue is Japanese, and she is fluent in English and German.
