Renewable mobile - Qualification of the craft for the challenges of electric mobility

The expansion of e-mobility brings about new chances, that should be used. Especially the electrical and automotive craft will face a huge need for qualification and training. A project of the chamber of commerce of Osnabrück-Emsland supported by the German Federal Environment Foundation wants to raise the awareness of craft on challenges and chances of e-mobility.

In Japan already more than 50.000 electric, plug-in or fuel cell vehicles are out on the streets. Until 2020 every second new vehicle will be an eco-vehicle – meaning Japans expansion target is three times as high as the 1 million EV’s which are the German target for 2020. In so-called "smart communities" and "EV / PHEV towns" several thousand electric vehicles will be tested in pilot projects. Japan can therefore be considered as a pioneer country in electric mobility.

Fact Finding Mission im May 2013

In the framework of a Fact Finding Mission to Japan in May 2013 organized ECOS, representatives of chambers, guilds and companies from Osnabrück and Hanover procured a glimpse into the future of electric mobility.

The eight participants could survey the combination of electric vehicle, Home Energy Management System (HEMS) and intelligent network in innovative model houses in Yokohama. The program also included a visit to the "Toyota Ecoful Town", an information center with E-mobility Park, demonstration home and a hydrogen fueling station. Particularly interesting were discussions with car manufacturers such as Nissan and Mitsubishi or the utility company TEPCO, who is spreading worldwide the rapid charging system CHAdeMO with other partners.
