Conference series "Sustainable and healthy Building and Living"

A series of symposia on the topic of "Sustainable and Healthy Building and Living", organised by ECOS with the support of the German Federal Ministry of the Environment as part of "Germany in Japan 2005/6", met with great interest.

German and Japanese experts from science and industry discussed concepts and research findings in the two thematic areas of "energy-efficient and healthy construction" and "sustainable urban development".

The German representatives were Prof. Klaus Sedlbauer, head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IBP), Dr. Gabriele Wendorf, head of the project "Socio-Ecological Design Potentials in Post-War Housing Stock" at the TU Berlin, Wulf Daseking, head of the Freiburg Urban Planning Office, and Michael Briehahn, International Sales Manager of illbruck Sealant Systems.

More than 80 interested listeners took part in the events in Otsu (Shiga Prefecture) on 13.02.06 and Kitakyushu (Fukuoka Prefecture) on 15.02.06, and in Sapporo (Hokkaido) on 17.02.06 even more than 200.
