Martin Volkmar

Martin Volkmar is a graduate engineer in physics and an energy expert with 35 years’ professional experience. During this time, he has worked for various German companies in Japan. He specialises in energy systems, smart grids and energy management solutions.

He has extensive expertise in the system design, structural analysis and market integration of distributed energy systems, including photovoltaic generation, battery storage, electric mobility, heat pumps and sector coupling technologies via energy management systems. A key focus of his work is the preparation of market reports and technology transfer activities in order to support European companies in understanding and entering the Japanese market.

Martin Volkmar has experience in the following fields:

• Preparation of market studies and technical reports on energy systems, smart grids and energy management technologies with a focus on Japan and other Asian markets
• Analysis of regulatory frameworks, market structures and business opportunities in the Japanese energy sector
• Product management and development coordination of energy management systems (HEMS) for residential and commercial applications
• Integration of PV, battery storage, EV charging, heat pump and complex power tariff systems into holistic energy solutions
